Here is an example, with high frequency loss. Can’t hear the vocals, or can’t understand them? That’s why a lot of deaf/hard of hearing people enjoy following along with the lyrics. A lot of deaf or hard of hearing people enjoy turning the volume up and feeling the vibrations. Other deaf or hard of hearing people have a hard time enjoying music… cause it kind of sounds like a bad recording. Yet others enjoy it accompanied by a sign language interpretation. There are many Deaf or Hard of hearing musicians, some unknown, and some world-renowned. Some from the past, like Beethoven, and some from the present, like Evelyn Glennie. Hope this offered some insight into what music sounds like for people with hearing loss.
