Bone Conduction Hearing Test. During a diagnostic hearing test we also play sounds through your skull directly into your cochlear. This helps us identify why part of the ear is not functioning correctly and therefore helps us decide on the best course of action. We also sometimes conduct “masking” during this test as often both ears will hear the signal, even if the sound appears to be broadcast into just one ear. This will ensure the most accurate result.
